8th Annual Cesar Chavez Celebration & Car Show

Join us for our main event of the year! The 8th annual Cesar Chavez Celebration and Car show will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 10 am to 5 pm. The theme of this year’s celebration is Be a Light in the Darkness. Join us as we welcome community partners, vendors, food trucks, guest speakers, car clubs, and performers from all across the western slope. This event is FREE to the public. We hope to see you there!

2023 Cesar Chavez Celebration Photo Essay Contest

Looking for a scholarship to help pay for some of your college bills? Are you a high school Junior or Senior in Mesa County? Like taking pictures? Then maybe the Cesar Chavez Celebration Photo Essay is the right fit for you.

The deadline is March 11, and the winner will be announced during our celebration on April 1.

Cesar Chavez Celebration of Mesa County Endowed fund

We are currently working on raising 25 thousand dollars for the required minimum to offer scholarships and have the first Cesar Chavez Celebration Endowed Fund, which will allow us to serve more youth on the western slope in achieving their educational goals.

Cesar Chavez Person of the Year

Each year, the Cesar Chavez Celebration of Mesa County board and committee nominate community members who embody the life and legacy of Cesar Chavez. These nominations are submitted to our community partner, the Riverside Task Force, who vet and review submissions and host a vote. The winner of this year’s award will be presented with their gift at the celebration. We hope you will join us in honoring them.
